Sub requested a custom redo

Since this is the first time this has happened, I am seeking advice. I verified after he emailed me specifics of what he wanted in the video after I sold a bespoke to a regular. He wanted a YouTube-type video (I have two channels), but spicier, like viewing me shift between clothing and a particular video topic. I assured him no trouble; I had done videos like that for him before.

He wanted fifteen minutes, and it was edited like a YouTube film—far more time than any of my regular practices call for. For anything that length, my typical custom pricing is $350; I still sold it to him for that.

Once he got it, he claimed he enjoyed it but preferred it more precisely. This was not included in the details he provided for the video; given that many people request movies without overtly graphic content, I didn’t inquire about it.

Although I would have charged him extra if he had originally asked for it, this will take more time now to correct. Should I add it in and film some extra material? Alternatively, let him know that he will have to pay more, as that wasn’t discussed in the past.

Tell him if he wants more explicit details; that needs to be mentioned prior to filming. And tell him you will happily make him another custom IF and WHEN he lists the specific details he wants. Because it is a new custom, it will be expensive.

Charge him for a fresh video; don’t do it for free.

It is reasonable to charge for a new custom since the explicit content was not part of the initial agreement. Tell him gently that the first details he supplied did not reflect the demand for more explicit content. Make it abundantly clear that completing this new request will require more time and effort.

Once a custom has a price decided upon, it’s a good practice to compile the request back to the sub. You want to do this to 1) make sure he is happy with the request and you have it right and 2) let him read it one more time to get more enthusiastic about it before paying for it .

Good luck; I hope everything goes smoothly.

It may be approached from a “regular” corporate perspective. Imagine someone requests a painting of themselves; say nothing further. After they had it, they seemed like, oh, but I wanted it with long hair on my head! Well, honey, you omitted to mention so this is what you received.

At most, you can offer him a little discount for the next one, but labor is labor, and that time you spent on this will not be returned.

He has to pay for a new video should the initial request not reflect this.

For this reason, I usually ask subs to specifically indicate what they wish. How explicit, specific body areas shown more toys, no toys, etc.?

However, he should have also mentioned what he desired!
Given that he wasn’t upfront about what he wanted, I would recommend that he pay for the replacement video.
